A Visual Journey Through the Haggadah

Produced in thousands of editions with new versions published every year, the Pesach Haggadah is probably the most illustrated book in Jewish history. Yet many Haggadah users ignore the rich potential that pictures have for adding to the seder experience. In this lecture, we “open the eyes” of the [hypothetical] son who does not know how to see, exploring the many ways that artists throughout the ages have used images to comment and expand on the Haggadah text. Doing so will provide viewers with the tools to enhance their own seders.
